Compressed Gas

OSHA Requires all employer's to maintain a written program.  Because some compressed gases are flammable, toxic or both and all are under pressure, they must be used, handled, and stored with extreme care.  An exploding cylinder can have the same destructive effect as a bomb.  This poses a serious problem for exposed workers and their employer.  The OSHA Compressed Gas Safety Standards establish uniform requirements to ensure that the hazards of compressed gases in U.S. workplaces are evaluated, safety procedures implemented, and that the proper hazard information is transmitted to all affected workers.
